It’s Ashley here, the newest addition to the Me Girl team.

I’m the new Community Manager here, but I secretly like to call myself the Community Queen.

I’m thrilled to be apart of Me Girl and I can’t wait to get to know all of you.

WHAT DOES A COMMUNITY MANAGER DO, ANYWAY?

Keeping you updated on all of the new features, new seasons, and anything up and coming!

But most of all, I’m here to listen to you.

10 THINGS ABOUT ME

1. I lived in Las Vegas for a few years, but I’m a Texas gal, through and through.

2. I’m a sucker for puppy eyes! I love animals, and especially dogs. You know the crazy lady who picks up strays off the street…. That’s me.

3. My list of hobbies is endless: photography, knitting, beading, reading, writing, drawing, playing guitar….

Whether I’m actually good at these things is questionable.

4. My favorite pastime is learning. That’s probably why I have so many hobbies.

5. I love color schemes! My favorite color combination of the moment is blue grey and shades of brown. Every room in my apartment has a dedicated color scheme.

6. Sometimes I walk through stores just to see how they style their mannequins. I love fashion, and I love putting together outfits with different items.

7. My favorite actress is Audrey Hepburn and my favorite film of hers is Sabrina. She’s so fashionable, and yet personal and down to earth at the same time.

8. I love musicals! That’s right, everyone, I am a bonafide Gleek. (Kudos to those of your who knows what a Gleek is.)

9. I have a B.A in Anthropology, minor in History, and am working towards an A.A.S in Digital Media. Huh? you may ask. Don’t worry, I’ve asked myself that, too.

10. My favorite cake is Boston fruit cake.

My motto is: Anytime is a good time for Boston fruit cake!

We’re keeping it a secret right now (luv surprises), but we’ll be inviting ten Me Girls to join a sneak peak and try it out before it’s launched.

We were really heartbroken here at the news about Amanda, who took her life recently after experiencing serious bullying and intimidation.

Cyberbullying is just as damaging as any other form of bullying, and it’s something that affects young girls in their young teen years particularly hard.

What some might consider to be harmless pranking or teasing can have long term and sometimes, like in the case of Amanda, tragic impact.

In whatever little way we can, we want to help. We’re doing our best to build an accepting Me Girl community for girls and women of all ages where we’re all comfortable with one another. We’ll be adding more ways we can support and uplift each other. We want to become a force of positivity.

It’s really simple - All we ask from you is to treat others the way you’d like to be treated and show a bit of support to each other.

And if you ever need a friend or a just friendly voice, remember that you can always drop us an email to say hello@megirl.com.

RIP Amanda, you’ll always have a place in our hearts.

We’re thrilled to welcome Christina, our new Creative Director!

She’s new to the team but not new to Frenzoo - originally she was a player and UGC fashion designer on Frenzoo.com, our web 3d world, and kept up as we made the transition into our Me Girl™ mobile games.

She’ll be leading all things design and creative - from UX, game design and art style through to Me Girl™ vision and branding.

We sat down for a mini Q&A on her first day:

What are you most looking forward to in the new role?

Creating Fun!

Learning and discovering what surprises and delights our players. And then working on game flow to make it a reality.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

In general, the world and people.

We live in such a dynamic and amazing world with so many different cultures and beliefs which are all so fascinating - I am inspired by those who dare to be different, those who dare to shine, those who fight for what they believe in and from those who pull through all challenges.

I am also inspired by people who I do volunteer work with and the people we work with, there is a wealth to be learned from those who battle through so many odds.

So why move from the fashion industry to gaming?

I love the fashion industry but at my heart I’m a creator and love technology - so the move feels like a good challenge and and my creativity can be utilized well in this industry!

What games have had the most impact on you over the years?

Wow, it all started with the The Sims, then The Sims online which was my first step into MMO’s.

The biggest game that has impacted me is definitely when Star Wars Galaxies launched, which kicked off a period in my gaming life that I truly cherish.

Then Second Life and later I discovered Frenzoo.com and then Style Me Girl which allowed for my inner fashionista to be unleashed. I play a lot of games and others I’ve loved include Mall World, Puzzle Pirates, Words With Friends and most recently Stardom.

What fashion brands do you admire most?

Fashion loves include Maison Martin Margiela, Alaia, Viktor and Rolf, Comme de Garcon, Barbara Bui, Vivienne Westwood, CK Calvin Klein and Armani Exchange.

But for my day to day, I love mixing and matching quirky items with everyday looks, feminine with the edgy, casual with the elevated.

Fashion Hazard, Condé Nast’s first iOS casual game, and our hit game Style Me Girl, are collaborating.

Condé Nast is home to some of the world’s most celebrated media brands so we’re very excited to team up.

Fashion Hazard is a unique take on the endless runner genre, combining fashion and action in a whole new way. There’ll be Style Me Girl themed extras and achievements to add to this fun and casual game experience.

Frenzoo Raises $1 Million to Create 3D Lifestyle Mobile Games for Women :

Major investors include Efficient Corporate, Siemer Ventures, K5 Ventures and Metaverse Services

Hong Kong and San Francisco, CA – May 10, 2012 – Frenzoo (www.frenzoo.com) the pioneers of a new class of 3D lifestyle and fashion iOS and Android games for girls and women, today announced it has received US $1 million in new seed funding from investors based in Asia, Europe and the United States.

Investors include: Efficient Corporate, the investment vehicle of Hong Kong-based angel investor Tytus Michalski; Siemer Ventures, an early-stage, cross-border venture firm with offices in Los Angeles and Asia; K5 Ventures, a pan Europe- and Asia-based group focused on media and commerce; and Metaverse Services, a China-based leader in game content creation. They join existing investor Ambient Sound Investments, an early stage venture firm backed by the founding engineers of Skype.  

In addition, joining the Frenzoo board of directors is Doug Glen, a veteran gaming and entertainment executive whose previous roles include Chief Strategy Officer of Mattel; CEO of Imagi Studios; and Director at Harmonix, the creators of Dance Central and Rock Band. Also joining Frenzoo as an advisor is fashion stylist and blogger Jasmine Webster. Founder of the popular DressMe blog, Webster has been nominated as a “Marie Claire Fashion Blogger of the Year” and selected as the “Style Judge” of Fashion One TV’s soon-to-air “Correspondent Search.”

Frenzoo will use the funds to accelerate the launch of its Me Girl™ brand of free games (www.megirl.com) that offer lifestyle and fashion entertainment for all ages. Data from mobile analytics firm Flurry shows that women make up a majority of the mobile social gaming audience. The Me Girl™ titles aim to be the first 3D games crafted specifically for this market.
